Mal: "Well, look at this! Appears we got here just in the nick of time. Whaddya suppose that makes us?"
Zoe: "Big damn heroes, sir."
Mal: "Ain't we just!"
AIN'T WE JUST IS BEING TRANSFERRED TO NEW MANAGEMENT AND WILL HOPEFULLY BE BACK IN ACTION SOON. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN OUR PLANET.
This is a roleplaying community for the (sadly defunct, but soon to be a major motion picture) TV series Firefly, created by Joss Whedon. All are invited to read the exploits of the biggest damn heroes in the 'verse, but if you'd like to apply f'r a character of your own, we ask that you read the rules. Thanks!
Hey hey hey, them ain't kosherized rules 1. "Simple, why can't it ever go simple?" Mal has issues with folk gettin' outta hand and makin' his life hard. So do we. Keep your drama and wanking and such planetside. 2. "Do you know what the chain of command is here? It's the chain I go get and beat you with to show you who's in command." Mods made the game. Respect the mods. If you have a problem, bring it to us, but be nice. Chances are, we'll be nice back. 3. Bunkin' up with folk: now, this here is the 26th century. We like to think of ourselves as an open-minded crew, and it's likely that on this ship, there'll be ladies bunkin' with ladies, and men bunkin' with men, as well as your usual men and womenfolk. If that's a problem for you, head on out from here. 4. Only pilot on this ship is Wash. Now, there's a certain amount of freedom allowed as to movin' things along in the story; so people don't sit waitin' for your character to turn and say "what", but this freedom has limits. If you're not sure if you're crossing them, ask first. 5. Unless otherwise cleared by the captains, you must make a post of some sort once every ten days. If you are in an active arc with someone, however, it's really not polite to leave them hanging for more than five. Common courtesy, folks.
A note about the style of play; this is a slow-paced game oriented towards character development rather than plot points and coordinated action. There will be some mass group interaction that will require coordination, which will be handled using AIM; but the general game play is journal oriented, play at yours-and-your-storyline-partner's pace. If you haven't played this style before, try it. You may like it, and it is not as time consuming as AIM-based games that require several people to be online at the same time, often for several hours, to play one scene.
If you've read all this and you're interested, send an email to email@example.com. You will hear back from the mods within a week, maximum. Your email should have a subject line of something like "Applying for Ain't We Just" and include:
Your name The character you are applying for* Your AIM handle A sample of journal entry for your character. Can be 1st person or 3rd as you like.
